If its not keeping you up nights

There has been a story on the news the past few days about a woman who was a victim of the Boston Marathon bombing.   She lost the bottom half of one of her legs.   Her profession?  A dance teacher.  Yet she looks into the camera seemingly without any bitterness or anger at God, and swears to dance again and to run the marathon next year.
This is a hero.   Our society often idolizes the wrong things, such as who has the most cars, who is dating the hottest celebrity, etc.   But its stories like this that deserve an audience.  The world is a battle of good versus evil.   The news continues to focus on the bombers and their back story.   Who cares.   This is the kind of story that deserves our attention.

I continue to want to live each and every one of the rest of my days focusing on the good that I can create and eliminate the evil that has gripped me in the past.  I continue to grow in my spirituality and revel in God grabbing hold of my heart and bringing it toward Him.  I delight in Him continuing to take away my negative habits and negative energy.   I will ask Him for things that I want, but accept that these are not the things that He wants for me.

I can not wait to be able to share my new soul with another.   I feel like every morning will be greeted with sunshine.   Before I just went through the motions.   This was all my own fault.   But now I have been changed and am so excited to pour that out of me with someone daily.   I know what love is.   In the words of Taking Back Sunday - If its not keeping you up nights then whats the point?

Stress

How Does Stress Affect Health?

Controlling stress is important to our health. Unrelenting stress can turn to distress. Stress is the body's reaction to any change that requires a physical, mental, or emotional adjustment or response. Stress is a normal part of life. Many events that happen to you and around you -- and many things that you do to yourself -- put stress on your body. Some stress can be good. It keeps us alert, motivated, and ready to avoid danger. But too much stress can make us sick.
Stress that continues without relief can lead to a condition called distress -- a negative stress reaction. Distress can disturb the body's internal balance or equilibrium, leading to physical symptoms such as headaches, an upset stomach, elevated blood pressure, chest pain, sexual dysfunction, and problems sleeping. Emotional problems can also result from distress. These problems include depression, panic attacks, or other forms of anxiety and worry. Research shows that stress also can bring on or worsen certain symptoms or diseases. Stress is linked to six of the leading causes of death: heart disease, cancer, lung ailments, accidents, cirrhosis of the liver, and even suicide.

float through life.

Trying hard on a day to day basis is everything.   There are those of us who often float through life.   Myself included.  I did this for years.   Actually for all of my years.  But I am trying to be free of the past.   I will try from here on in, to give my best in all areas every day.
I am taking the best care of my body - mentally, spiritually and physically.   This is how I will reach my goal.  Yes a lot of my eggs are in one basket.   But I truly feel if you want something bad enough you will get it.   The odds are way against it being anywhere near easy.   But I am up for the challenge.
If I fail I will know that I gave it my best.   Even if it is too little too late.
Everyday is a battle with the enemy.   I am glad I am finally on the right side of that.
