It is one thing to be forgiving, it is another thing entirely to be foolishly trusting. You have the urge to extend the olive branch to someone who has wronged you. That's a noble and right thing to do. But don't confuse forgiveness with starting fresh. A certain person has not earned your trust back yet, even though you are ready to forgive. This individual may have issues that have nothing to do with you. And until that person works those issues out, then he or she may keep on repeating the same offenses. Let it go and move on, but protect yourself too.
